DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

As a DevOps Engineer at Relution, you'll shape, operate, and continuously improve the platform and infrastructure behind our applications. You'll own the setup, configuration, integration, and optimization of complex, cloud-native systems — from deployment through day-to-day operations to troubleshooting.

• Infrastructure and automation: You'll be hands-on and responsible for infrastructure and its automation — from containerization with Docker and Kubernetes to Infrastructure as Code and observability.
• Building and running the development environment: You'll develop and maintain the working environment for our development teams using tools like GitLab, Renovate, ProGet, SonarQube, and YouTrack.
• DevOps automation and CI/CD: Working closely with our development teams, you'll take on a varied mix of DevOps automation tasks — designing automation concepts and building CI/CD pipelines on GitLab CI, then continuously evolving them.
• Keeping things running: You'll ensure agile operations in the cloud and in modern data centers, monitor business-critical customer applications, and investigate incidents.
• Architecture and continuous improvement: You'll actively help shape our platform's architecture and drive its ongoing improvement — with an eye on security, scalability, efficiency, and maintainability.

What you should bring

• Kubernetes: You're comfortable with Kubernetes and the container ecosystem (Docker, Helm), and you understand the concepts behind them — not just the commands.
• A solid grasp of cloud-native and DevOps: You've internalized the principles behind cloud-native platforms, DevOps, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD, and you know core building blocks like object storage, autoscaling, load balancing, and high availability.
• Fundamentals in Linux, networking, and monitoring: You have a solid foundation in Linux and networking and understand the basic principles of observability (logging, monitoring, alerting).
• Languages: You speak German at C1 level or above and English at B1 level or above.

Nice to have

• Self-managed Kubernetes: Experience running self-managed Kubernetes clusters on bare metal, along with components like Longhorn or CloudNativePG.
• Programming and scripting: You code or script in Bash, Python, Go, or Java and have a good feel for software development and the application lifecycle.
• Observability in practice: Hands-on experience with the LGTM observability stack — especially Grafana and Prometheus.
• Databases: Knowledge of databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Network and system administration: Deeper knowledge of VPN tunnels, DNS, and routing, plus solid Linux skills.
• Tooling experience: Ideally, you've already worked with GitLab CI, our central CI/CD tool. Experience with comparable tools (such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform/OpenTofu, or Ansible) or with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure is also a plus.
